As a young farmer in Cuba, Angel developed a strong work ethic and learned the true meaning of sacrifice. These traits were the foundation that served him well as a devoted provider for his family. Because of the poor economics in Cuba, Angel quickly realized that he wanted a better life for his family. In 1971, Angel and Eloisa along with his parents and their two sons immigrated to the United States, escaping communism in Cuba. Facing language barriers and arriving with only 5 suitcases with their belongings, he knew a brand-new start in America would far out-weigh the difficult life of living in Cuba.
Angel settled the family in the Houston area with the help of relatives already in the States. It was there that he built a long and prosperous life as a devoted husband and father. He has enjoyed retirement life developing a passion for gardening which stemmed from his farming days. He has won numerous neighborhood awards for his meticulous gardening. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his precious wife and grandchildren.
