Angel's working life began at a young age to follow crop picking all the way to Wisconsin and back home. Always a hard worker, he worked as a dish washer at the Rice Hotel and had other jobs before working for the City of Houston where he retired after 30 years of service.
Angel, Pop, Pawpaw, was always a very quiet, sensitive, caring and loving man. He raised 6 children with unconditional love. Loved his 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren that followed.
Our Pop, whose name is Angel, could not have had a better name, he was truly our Angel for all our lives. He was such a good and gentle man who always put others first. Everything he did was for his family, especially for us, his children. He was the definition of unconditional love and showed by his example how to love and respect all the people around us.
As a quiet soul, he was definitely a master at " Lead by example." We learned so much, not only the things already mentioned, but how to take care of our belongings to make them last and also especially his famous BBQ cooking that is now passed on to his sons and grandsons. He was also a talented musician and was a gifted guitar player and singer and passed those talents onto his kids as well.
He loved the ranch and ranching. He went when he could as often as he could for all his life. It was a struggle for something that was near and dear to his heart and he put all his love and effort into it for many, many years. He also mastered how to get out of impossible situations, he was a clever man. He was a clown too. Always making us laugh. A Maldonado trait for sure.
He loved us with his whole heart and we loved him right back just the same, with our whole heart and will forever! We will definitely miss him dearly, all the rest of our days. He was loved and respected not only by his family and friends but by other people that he has helped along the way. He had faith like no one else, always praying for everyone. He would say, "I pray for you every day."
