My earliest memories of my Uncle Andrew are when I was 5 or 6 years old. To me he was larger than life. A man that symbolized everything that being a man meant back then. Strong as a bull, a provider for his family, a loving heart for not only his family but towards people in general. Forthright and honest as the day was long. He like my father was a get it done with no excuses type of man. He was clear about right and wrong, good and bad. A strong deep voice still resonates in my ears. He said what he meant and meant what he said. I knew even at  that young age that there  was nothing that this man could not accomplish. He was a role model for me. I loved him and will miss him. I am sad to see him leave this earth but joyful that he will be joining my mother, his sisters, brother and parents in Heaven. Rest in Peace Uncle Andrew.

I’m Steven Smith.   Andy and I have been friends for over 30 years. We sailed a couple of short hauls with MEBA together.  As branch agent for MEBA,  I was able to dispatch Andy and I to sail on the Texas A&M vessel, Texas Clipper II, bringing it home from the shipyard giving us one more chance to do what we love doing on the same ship. 
 Andy,  a  better brother or shipmate you could not ask for,  strong winds and smooth sailing my brother. You will be missed.  Steve 

My great grandpa Andrew was truly a legend.  He was an U.S. Army veteran who served as a paratrooper doing his duty with such pride and patriotism earning many decorations, including the purple heart, during his time in service.  Many members of our family, including myself, have served this country.  He was an inspiration to me with how passionate he was about his service to his country and was one of the major reasons I chose to serve as well. I always loved hearing his war stories and his stories from sea when he worked as a Merchant Marine.  He was a character too. Everytime we talked he'd always make me laugh with some of the corny jokes he would come up with.  He was always so kind hearted and a joy to be around.  I always enjoyed his company. Your memory will forever live on in me and all the hearts you've ever touched. I love you grandpa.

My dad is truely missed i cant stop thinking about you dad.... i dont know how im going to keep going but im trying, Sunday and monday are going to be so hard for me to face but ill be your big girl and do my best. I cant stop listening to your voice i recorded when you were in the hospital when you told me i was your favorite girl....i love u daddy and miss you dearly..love jessica 
The picture im uploading here is when i took my dad on a road trip to corpus christi to deliver a transmission for my job. He was so excited to go with me we really enjoyed ourselves. Xoxoxo

Andy was such a wonderful man, veteran, merchant marine and mentor to all. I enjoyed his sea stories, appreciated  his insight and relished his visits to the hall. He was one of a kind, dearly thought of and greatly  missed when he retired. My condolences and sympathy to his family on their loss of a great man.

        Just want to say i love you and i miss you so much and thank you for being the best dad ever. You will truely be missed thanks for being such a great grandpa to Melissica and Ben they love you so much. I can't believe your gone but I'll see you soon dad rest in heaven I love you.
