I recently heard about Allen's passing, I am so sorry for your loss.  I used to hang out with Allen at the Tall Texan several years ago and remember his stories fondly, when he told me about the route he and Hershel would take to their weekly trip to the bakery, I told him that they pass right by my parents house, so they began honking each week as they passed by.  My God Bless the Weiss family.  RIP Allen, you will be missed!

Nene, Butch, Mariellen, Carolyn and Mrs. Weiss, Jay and I pray that God gives each of you the strength, the love, and the faith to know that only God's hand could come and take your father home. I will always remember your mom and dad watching PBS back in the 1970s. May God be with each of you in this saddest of times. Just know you have your family and so many friends

Hey Butch, thinking about you and your family in prayer. I pray that you all will be strengthened by God's plan of salvation for us all. It is not a bad day when we go home to the place prepared for us in heaven; but for loved ones left behind sadness is hard to escape. It is my hope though that shared memories of the good times with your father will ease that sadness. It is my hope too that God's grandiose plan for eternal life; and the knowledge that your father is now sharing in that plan, will bring joy where there is now sorrow.

Dear Mrs. Weiss, Mariellen and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.  Mr. Weiss was a wonderful man and a landmark to all of us in the neighborhood, especially the children - as the ‘man on the swing.' As children, my niece Cassie, and our three daughters loved to visit with Mr. Weiss and swing with him while watching hummingbirds & squirrels feed, just enjoying the breeze of the evening air.   Mr. Weiss always showed such an interest as the girls would chat on and on with their stories of the day, and he would patiently listen and ask questions.   Many times my girls would get off their school bus and be watched by the careful eye of Mr. Weiss as he sat and looked out his office window, a comfort to us parents  who sometimes ran late for that afternoon pickup (oops!).  The motto of a good neighbor; both Moon, Allen, and Mariellen - could always be counted on... whether it was keeping an eye on the house, kids, surrounding neighbors, as well as, help with stray cats, dogs, raccoons and even ducks that came wondering into our neighborhood. The Weiss family was just a phone call or a knock on the door away. 
Although this is a very difficult time, we want you to know we keep Mr. Weiss in our hearts with our stories and fond memories.
