Alfonso A. Cantu “Dad” 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was born in Weslaco, Texas and spent his youth years in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico, came back to Texas to live in Corpus Christi for a few years then ultimately settled in Houston, Texas. It was in Houston where he met Rachel and in 1959, he married her and raised a family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Rachel, parents, Alfonso and Concepcion Cantu, brothers, Guadalupe, Aurelio and sister Simona Cantu. He is survived by his daughters Katherine, Aileen and husband Oscar, Connie, Christina and husband George, sons Francisco, Alfonso and wife Helen, Aurelio and Frank. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jesus Alfonso, Angel Armando, Juan Francisco, Joseph, Rudy, Mark, Keith, Mason, Joshua and Michael and many great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
He will be forever loved and remembered.
Visitation will be from at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 4th 2021 with a Celebration of his life at 6:30 pm in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home located on 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5th 2021 at 9:30 AM at the same location. Committal service will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N. Main St., Houston, TX.
