Evelyn Whitney Singleton, age 71, a native of Westwego, La., and a resident of Morgan City, LA., died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 9:10 PM at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Church of God of Prophecy in Patterson, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Ernest Singleton, Sr., of Morgan City, La., two sons, Terence Singleton, Sr., of Patterson, La., and Ernest Singleton, Jr., of Morgan City, La; one daughter, Shauna Singleton of Morgan City, La; one brother, Bishop James T.(Nell) Whitney of Marrero, La; two sisters, Vera Briggs of Westwego, La., and Evella Roberson of Harvey, La; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; James Walter Whitney and Aldreana Mary Whitney.
