It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our daughter Monica B. Fortier, age 29, on June 28, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1995, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Thomas Fortier and Rhonda Fortier. She was known for her compassion to help others. She was a Reiki instructor and helped many who suffered with pain and health issues.
She was a devoted mother to her two young children, Athena and Amir. She was a single mother, who dedicated every extra minute making sure her children were loved. She loved animals, the outdoors, hiking trails to waterfalls, sitting by the fire pit, and playing in the pool with her children. She loved helping others, giving to people on the street, even if it was the last few dollars in her purse. She had a gift for making people laugh.
Monica is survived by her two young children Athena Curl age 8, Amir Duffy age 3; parents Thomas Fortier and Rhonda Garrett Fortier of Pearcy, AR; sister Kayla Toten (Elijah Toten) of Jonesboro; nieces Annabella Smitha, Faith Smitha, Amelia Smitha; nephew Evander Toten; grandmother Shirley Garrett of Royal; aunts Phyllis Lynch, Carla Jenkins (Todd Jenkins) of Hot Springs, and Tina Boadway; cousins Zeb Jenkins, Mandy Lynch, Misty Bishop, and Shane Lynch; also numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.
