Michael Houston Hall of Hot Springs, Arkansas peacefully ran into the arms of Jesus surrounded by family and friends at his home Wednesday, June 5th, 2024. He was a treasure to his family and all who were lucky enough to know him.
Mike was a giver, always looking for things that he could do for others. A true servant of the Lord, full of compassion and empathy like no other. He never shied away from a challenge and could fix or figure out just about any problem you could hand him. He was the “go to” guy for friends and family alike.
He was an avid reader and read books just as quick as you could get them in his hands and felt like you could read and learn about anything you wanted to in life. He loved spending early mornings reading the news on his laptop and sitting outside drinking his coffee looking at the lake and listening to the birds with his beautiful wife of 52 years Pat.
Grumpy, as he was affectionately known by his family, never sat still. He was a doer. His family called him a hummingbird because he was always in motion fixing, doing, helping. Mowing the grass was one of his favorite things to do and to no surprise we caught him multiple times with his oxygen in his backpack sitting on the mower up until just a few weeks before his death.
Mike spent 30 years as owner of Buddy Bean Building Supply, and the kid who hated school and wasn’t sure he even cared to graduate took over a failing business and grew it into a success that provided for himself and generations of his family. He never missed a chance to share his wit and wisdom with his customers and friends who played such an important role in his life. Giving advice on construction mishaps, life lessons, or helping someone out of a jam was his specialty. He took pride in taking care of his customers and doing the right thing, and he was so proud of the fact that the legacy he had built would be carried out when he sold his business to Hardman Lumber in 2019.
Family and friends were the cornerstone of Grumps life. He loved a good talk with a friend outside on the porch over a cold beer or a glass of iced tea, a jeep adventure with the crew, a boat ride, a ballgame, or a yard full of family for a cookout or a holiday meal, just the simple joy of being together. We will miss him so much because he loved us so good.
Mike is survived and will forever be deeply loved and missed by his wife of 52 years Patricia Hall. His daughter Alisa Arnold (Jake) of Hot Springs, AR. Two adored grandchildren Ella Caroline Arnold and Tucker Jacob Arnold of Hot Springs, AR. A brother Ted Hall (Kelli) of Eureka Springs Arkansas. A sister Judy Loomer (Ken) of Nevada, Missouri. A special sister-in-law Sharon Rhodes and her two precious children Cody (Sarah) and Kaleigh, a brother-in-law Joe (Cheryl) who he had such fun memories with, sisters-in law Pam Rahmani (Allen) Sheila LaFollette and Carolyn Garrabrant who he loved deeply and cared about in so many ways, a future grandson-in-law Bradyn Pate who was the perfect fit for his precious girl, friends who have become family Cindy and Dean Ulmer and numerous other family members and friends who have shared such special times with him throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his angel baby Angela Marie Hall, his loving parents Sonny and Corine Hall, and his brother Dale Len Hall.
The family would like to give their sincerest thanks to the beautiful people God placed in their path on Mike’s journey: Dr. Rhonda Gentry and all the wonderful and compassionate healthcare workers at CARTI, Dr. Adil Imran and his staff, Dr. Randy Hill and all the Hospice Homecare team. Mike was so very thankful for you all and felt so blessed to be loved and cared for.
