Lloyd McGuire Lively, 88, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday evening, May 27, 2014, at Village Springs Health and Rehabilitation in Hot Springs. He was born December 30, 1925, in Hewins, Kansas, to the late Homer and Carrie Lively and grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Marian Lively of Malvern, and his daughter, Karen Martin and her husband Tom of Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Ann Lively Cormier, his parents, seven brothers and one sister. He lived the Christian faith as a Baptist. He spent his working life in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Louisiana employed by Phillips Petroleum, Calary Chemical, Continental Oil, and Sasol. He retired to Malvern in 1986 to be close to his daughters and their families. Lloyd was an avid fisherman, shrimper, and carpenter. He also loved to play pool. One of his favorite places was his fishing camp on Toledo Bend Lake where he spent many happy hours on the water. He loved meeting people and telling stories about the times he had as a boy with his dog Skippy. The family expresses great gratitude to the caring staff at Village Springs Health and Rehabilitation, Dierksen Memorial Hospice and The Crossing for the tender, loving care they gave to Lloyd and them throughout the past year. They will be welcoming friends at The Crossing, 720 Walco Road, in Malvern, Arkansas, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2014. A private memorial service is being planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Malvern Senior Center, 1800 West Moline Street, Malvern, Arkansas 72104. Arrangements are being made by Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
