

Dorene B. Duncan, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by her family and wrapped in the love of many who held her dear.
Born on October 6, 1952, in Fannie, Arkansas, to Joe S. Breashears and Darlene Breashears, Dorene lived a life defined by faith, love, music, and a spirited devotion to her Arkansas Razorbacks. Her vibrant singing voice and kind heart touched all who knew her.
Dorene was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy through her children: Ty Duncan, Jason Duncan (Kristi), Erin Walters (Steve), Benjamin Duncan (Kathy), Gabriel Womack (Jordan), and Hannah Womack.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Josh Hale (Riah), Chase Norwood, James Duncan, Hunter Duncan, Zack Duncan, Mataya Duncan, Atalya Malone (Tristin), Sam Duncan, Brody Duncan, Emily Baker (Brett), Jerrell Johnson, and Jazlene Johnson; and her great-grandchildren: Aislynn and Bristol.
Dorene is also survived by her siblings: James Breashears (Sharlene), Curtis Breashears (Jane), Eddie Breashears, Corene Bragg, and Kitty Potra (Julian). She is reunited in peace with her beloved parents and siblings—David Breashears, Mary Joe Carter, Georgia Sveda, and infant sister Marsha Ruth Breashears—who preceded her in death.
A private family viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A memorial service celebrating Dorene’s life will be announced at a later date.
Dorene was a light in the lives of those around her—offering comfort, laughter, and wisdom. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit, love, and song will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
