Charles E. Murphy, Jr (“Murph”), 81, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, after a brief illness, he died unexpectedly at a local hospital on June 13, 2024. Born November 15, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Murph graduated with the Hot Springs High School Class of 1960. He reunited with former classmates after returning to Hot Springs and helped in reunion events as well as working as co-treasurer of class funds with classmate Judy Livingston Thompson. Loved by his family and friends, Charles Murphy will be missed.
Murph is predeceased by his parents, Charles E. Murphy, Sr and Mary Emma Hutchison, a sister, Deborah Polidori, three brothers, William John Murphy, Harry Samuel Murphy, and Jerry Edward Giese, and a cat named Clovis.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children
He served in the U. S. Army from June, 1963, to February, 1967.
He attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, and worked as a senior archeologist at Navajo Nation.
Viewing and services will be on Tuesday, July 2, at Gross Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 9:00AM to 11:00AM and services will be at 11:00 AM.

A Military Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 1501 W Maryland Ave, North Little Rock, Arkansas, at 1:00 PM.
