TAUVELA TILAIA TATAIPU, 69, of Honolulu, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away July 26, 2011 at her residence. Born October 19, 1941 in Fugita, American Samoa, she was a nurse’s assistant and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband, High Chief Patelesio Kolone Tataipu and daughter, Eveliga Tataipu. Survived by sons, Fagota (Ho’onani) Tataipu, Jr., Leolofi “David” (Kalua) Tataipu, Poulima Tataipu, Patelesio “Peter” (Katy) Tataipu; daughter, Fialupe “Lupe” Tataipu; 27 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Faagaoi “Peter” Brown; sisters, Isa Atimalala, Gatae Brown.
Visitation 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Kalihi Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1723 Beckley Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819); service 11:00 a.m.; grave dedication and burial 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception at the church to follow the burial.
