Robert Lawrence Debone

Robert “Bob” Lawrence DeBone, born in Detroit Michigan on April 24th, 1942. Bob passed away peacefully at his home in Kailua, HI on November 3rd, 2024 at the age of 82. He was surrounded by immediately family members.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survived by his wife Judie celebrating sixty years of marriage, daughter Charlotte, sons Anthony (Kathryn), Patrick (Shelly), and Christopher (Jade). Four grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

He was the oldest child of six siblings. Predeceased by sister Elizabeth Wall (Jimmy) and brother John. Survived by sister Laura Vitale (John), brothers William (Kathy), and Lawrence (Carol).

Bob worked in the printing industry most of his career. He was the technical installation and support Manager for Litho Photo Supply in both Michigan and Hawaii. Bob eventually retired from Hagadone Printing Company in Honolulu, HI.

He was a devout Catholic parishioner at St. John Vianney in Kailua, HI and an active member of the Knights Of Columbus. Over the years Bob enjoyed many family adventures in their motorhome with the Roadrunner camping group back in Michigan, supporting the Boy Scouts of America with his boys, volunteering with the Dad’s Club at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Catholic schools, traveling the world, and being a proud UH football season ticket holder along with his football fanatic wife.

Being born in Detroit, Bob always had a knack and passion for the automobile. He was a member of many local car clubs including the Antique Car Club, British Car Club, and the Aloha Mustang and Shelby Club of Hawaii. Bob developed skills over the years that elevated him to the elite status of Master Tinkerer. There wasn’t a project he couldn’t tackle with a little duct tape, super glue, WD-40, or Shoe Goo.

A private service was held by immediate family in Honolulu, HI. There will a Celebration of Life event held in Michigan at a later date. Please make a donation to your favorite charity in Bob’s honor if you wish.

The family wants to send their warmest Aloha and gratitude to all of the medial caregivers for the special care he received.
