Dear Nora, Amy, and Mrs. Au. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how difficult this must be. I remember that he was always kind to me, and was quick to smile and laugh. He made being with your family a warm and comfortable experience for me, and I'll always be grateful for that.

You were my gentle giant, a wonderful and supportive Daddy to our children, and a loving and caring husband. Your sudden passing has left a big void in our hearts. We miss you so very much. I still imagine you walking into the house and saying, Hi Hon, I am home. I miss hearing you say Good Morning at every sunrise and Good Night at every sunset to me. I miss your arms around me while you comfortingly say, Don't worry. Everything will be okay when I am sad. I miss seeing you wave goodbye to me until I turn the corner of the street whenever I leave our house. I miss you holding my hand when we go window-shopping. Most of all, I miss you being next to me.

  During our forty years together in life, for better and for worse, we went though a lot of good and bad times. We survived the unthinkable and celebrated the joyous moments with each other. Unknowingly to you through those times, you showed me how to forgive, when to let go and what is love. Because of you, I have become a kinder, more peaceful, more compassionate and stronger person. You never lectured with words but with quiet and tender actions. 

  Now, I will have to go through this journey without you beside me. I will hold on to those memories so tightly in my heart and your loving approving smile in my mind to complete my journey here.  Though you are not here with me, you are never far from me in spirit. Wherever I go, you will be there. Whenever I think of you, you will be there.  Thank you for this wonderful life. It was great.

Dear Gary,

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing.  It's so unexpected that we cousins should pass away so soon.  The picture memorial is beautiful and touching.  I regret not having the chance to see more of Gordon, and all of the cousins.  I remember how gentle and kind he was when I saw him at our family gatherings growing up, same as you Gary.  I remember seeing him with his wife when they first got married and how tender they were.  What a beautiful life he had, and a wonderful family.  I can see that in the pictures.  

Please extend our most sincere condolences to his wife and family, and to your mom, Margie and your family.  You and he are in our hearts forever.  If there's anything we can do, please let us know.

Gordon was a good bro and he had a sense of humor.  When I was a kid, he'd wrap me in a blanket like a burrito and tickle me to death till I was screaming for mercy.  He'd take me for rides on his motorcycle and I had an awesome time.  He once hid a black kitten in his laundry and fed it with an eye dropper.  He was very compassionate towards these little defenseless animals.  I appreciated him as a brother and friend.  He was very sensible and easy to get along with.  Will miss him!

Gordon always reminds me as an unpretentious and generous person.  He would drive all the way from Waianae to take dad to work every Sunday.  I remembered watching drive-in movies in the bed of his truck and all the Christmas parties and gatherings at his house.  Such fun and good time!

I am truly sorry about your loss.  Accepting a loss is difficult, especially when it is unexpected.  I know words will never suffice to express the sorrow you are going through at this time.  I hope time will help you emerge from this dark time of your life.
