Darolyn was born to Pedro and Chieko (Tanaka) Lendio of Waialua.
After graduating from Waialua High School, she attended the University of Southern California and the University of California at Berkeley, where she studied law.
Prior to joining the judiciary as a District Court Judge for the State of Hawai`i, she had a distinguished legal career which included working as a partner with the law firm of McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon LLP, as the Vice President for Legal Affairs and University General Counsel for the University of Hawai`i, as Director of the Department of Corporation Counsel for the City and County of Honolulu, and as an associate at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel.
Darolyn is survived by husband Ronald Heim, sons Cade Brittain and Alexander Heim, parents Pedro and Chieko (Tanaka) Lendio, brothers Terence (Janet) Lendio, Ross Lendio, and sister Lori (Jeffrey) McKeown. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Leia Lendio, Kamryn Sholtis, Rhys (Cristina) Lendio, Rhyn Lendio, and Maya McKeown.
Services will be held on December 30, 2022 at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation is at 4:00 pm; Service at 5:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of gifts, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Hawaii with a note in the memo “In Memory of Darolyn Lendio Heim”, 677 Ala Moana Blvd. #301 Honolulu, HI 96813.
