Rafael "Ray" A. Rodriguez

Rafael A. “Ray” Rodriguez, 74, of Crystal River, FL, passed away peacefully on Tues., Aug. 18, 2015 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he was born Aug. 18, 1941, the only child to Antonio and Juanita Rodriguez. Ray, as he was known to everyone, was a retired National Account Sales Manager for Hobart Corporation with 33 years of service. He proudly served our country as a Communications Specialist in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1969. Ray moved to Crystal River seventeen years ago from Orlando, FL. Ray had an infectious laugh, a comforting smile and an extreme passion for the outdoors, whether it is racing motorcycles, rebuilding car engines, camping, boating, dancing or his ultimate passion fishing. Ray loved anything that involved competition, water, an engine and good times with loved ones. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Anne Rodriguez of Crystal River; his four children: Kevin Rodriguez (wife Pattie), New Port Richey, FL; Michael Rodriguez (wife Chris), Lawrenceville, GA; Lisa Smith (husband Bill), Parker, CO and Daniel Rodriguez (wife Amy), Tampa, FL; the mother of his children, Sharron Rodriguez of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL and his eleven grandchildren; Dane, Kelly-Anne, Tristan, Joshua, Caleb, Brenden, Hope, Blake, Kaden, Gavin and Julianna. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Sun., Aug. 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL with Fr. Greg Andrews officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Hospice of Citrus County Inc.
