James Michael Roberts, 72, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at the James A. Haley VAMC, Tampa, FL. A native of Cincinnati, OH, he was born Nov. 24, 1944 to James Imber Roberts and Mary Virginia (Zoller) Roberts. Mike, as he was known to many, served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966. He was the former owner and operator of Froelich Construction of his hometown in Cincinnati, a business he owned for over 20 years. He specialized in roofing, siding, doors and windows. Mike loved to travel as well as play cards, especially Texas Hold’em. He moved to Homosassa, FL in 2005 and is survived by his wife Sharon Kay Roberts, with whom he shared 22 great years. Also survived by his three children; Keli Roberts, Cincinnati, OH; Sheri Roberts (Debbie Frazier), Vevay, IN and Scott Roberts (Andrea), Seattle, WA; two stepsons: Steve Manz (Sherry) of OH and Scott Walters, Homosassa, FL; brother Rick Roberts of California. Mike loved all 19 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by two stepsons; Bill and Joe Walters. Friends will be received on Fri., Jan. 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL, where a chapel service will take place at 12:00 P.M. with military honors.
