Mary Ann Martinez

Mary Ann Martinez, 84, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., Nov. 7, 2021 at the Health Center at Brentwood in Lecanto, FL. A native of Santa Fe, NM, Mary Ann was born Feb. 15, 1937 to Jose and Maria “Mattie” Martinez, one of eight children. Mary Ann enjoyed a long 43 year career in the banking industry as a bank teller and moved to Homosassa two years ago from her native Santa Fe. She loved music, especially Western and religious music, and was a devout Roman Catholic. Mary Ann also loved to dance and play slot machines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Tony (and wife Annie), Ramon and Michael. Mary Ann is survived by her four sisters: Martha Donnelly (husband Xavier) of Rosamond, CA; Vickie Gonzales, Albuquerque, NM; Stella Atchison of Yuma, AZ and Spokane, WA and Christina Guss (husband Skip), Homosassa, FL; sisters-in-law Exilda Martinez, Santa Fe, NM and Mary Jane Martinez, Moyers, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church of Homosassa will be announced for the near future. Interment will take place at a later date in Mary Ann’s native Santa Fe, NM.
