Joyce Ann Belcher, 77, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sat., July 10, 2021 at her home with her family. A native of Athens, TN, she was born Oct. 11, 1943 to Oscar and Edith (McNelley) Brown. The family moved to Toledo, Ohio up north where Joyce enjoyed a long 27-year career as a sales associate for JCPenney Corp. at several of their Toledo, OH locations. In her retirement she and husband Joe moved to Athens, TN to be with family and then moved to Homosassa, FL 7 years later. They left Ohio because the winters, moved to Tennessee and one day it snowed so they then went to Florida. Being raised in the Missionary Baptist Church where her brother was her pastor, she was a faithful devout Christian. When she wasn’t working, spending time with her family she could be found at one of her three church's she was a member of throughout her life. The first one Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Ohio, then Clay Hill Baptist in Athens, TN and she most recently attended Suncoast Baptist Church in Homosassa, FL. She lived a life of giving to others where she would share her love of Jesus with anyone. She was devoted to her church where she immensely enjoyed singing in the choir at church and in the local nursing home. Joyce loved playing cards with her many friends, dressing up for fun events and just having fun. Her loves were her family, friends, daily three-mile walks, swimming in her pool at home, and her beloved dog Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings; Robert Hammonds, Betty Dolan Plemmons and John Brown. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Kerrie (Joe) Belcher, Homosassa, FL; children John Hardy, Toledo, OH; Karen Medley, Walbridge, OH; Carrie Miller (husband Todd Ray Miller), Maumee, OH; and Terrie Lynn Belcher, Adrian, MI; sister Vernelle Hampton, Athens, TN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great, grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Suncoast Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Couric officiating, on Sunday, July 25th with visitation hours from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, service 2:00pm to 3:00pm and fellowship meal at the church from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.
