Jackie Wayne Stell, 78, of Beverly Hills, FL, was called home on Monday, November 27, 2023. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Jackie, leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born in Ennis, TX, to the late Dorothy Lee Stell and the late Jesse Williams, Jackie's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family, service, and unwavering kindness. A graduate of Harper High School in Chicago, IL, he went on to honorably serve in the U.S. Air Force as Airman First Class (A1C) for four years proudly contributing to his country during the Vietnam War.
Jackie's career that he loved with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was a testament to his commitment and professionalism. Starting as an Air Traffic Controller, he later assumed managerial roles. After 38 years, Jackie retired in 2002 from the FAA Air Route Traffic Center in Leesburg, VA. His contributions to aviation safety were immeasurable. Following his retirement, Jackie relocated to Beverly Hills, FL where he began a new chapter of his life.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jackie was a man of passion and joy. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, he found delight in cheering for his team alongside family and friends. His love for movies, his adventurous spirit in travel, and the cherished moments spent with those he held dear illuminated his life.
Jackie's magnetic personality was characterized by his infectious smile and hearty laugh that filled every room he entered. A beacon of warmth, he was known for his kind and giving nature, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Daysi Stell, his loving children, Synette Belfon-Valentine, Jonathan Stell, Veronica Castillo, Jason Stell, Francia Tenorio and Francisco Tenorio, a cherished granddaughter,Ava Belfon-Valentine, his sister Jacqueline Wood of Bowie, MD, and his niece and nephew.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a Celebration Of Life will begin at 11:30 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with the United States Air Force and American Legion Post #155 rendering honors.
