Emmarene C. Tinsley, 95, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at The Grove Health and Rehab Center in Hernando, FL. A native of Charlottesville, VA, she was born April 16, 1924. She moved to Maryland in 1955 and finally to Crystal River, FL in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Tinsley, Sr. after 54 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Kisner and her son Bill Tinsley. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Janice Sharkey, Joyce Scenna, Ashley Kisner and Jim Tinsley and two great grandchildren Nicholas Scenna and Sylvia Scenna. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Napier in Virginia and her brother Gilbert Clements in Maryland.
During her high school years at Schuyler High School in Schuyler, VA she was very proud to be a member of the National Beta Club and Valedictorian of her graduating class..
She was raised in the country in Virginia and spent a good deal of time with her father in the garden and in the flower garden. She had a great love of flowers. When our pots of flowers were just about dead, we took them to Mother for revival. When they were revived, she would offer them back to us. We always let them stay with her because she would keep them alive. She was just as passionate about her little fur family as she was about her flowers. She always had pets that she loved. She had little Chihuahuas from the 60’s to the present. Her home was always open to any of her family that needed a little help. She loved country music.
She lived her entire life for the good of her family. From a little girl who helped care for her siblings and her mother to the older woman who cared for all who needed her. She sacrificed her own needs and desires to make sure that the needs and desires of others were met. No matter what the circumstances, she was always there for us. Now, at last, she can rest. She will be greatly missed.
