Effie M. Loyed

Effie M. Loyed was called home Tuesday November 19, 2024. Effie was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late R.V. and Allie Mae (King) Skipper on March 22, 1935. She spent many years in Sparta, NC, Winter Haven, FL and Bartow, FL, and the last 10 years in Homosassa, FL.

Effie was a member of First Baptist Church of Homosassa and member of Gideons. She loved fishing, gardening and spending time talking and telling stories. Effie was an amazing cross stitcher and spent many years cross stitching precious moments. She was a seamstress almost her entire life. She owned her own shop and overcame adversity in a time when there were only Tailors.

Effie is preceded in death by her parents R.V. and Allie Mae (King) Skipper and her daughter Deborah Gustafson. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Harold Loyed; son David (Teresa) Loyed of Winter Haven, FL; son-in-law Eric Gustafson of Newnan, GA; grandchildren Jennifer Patterson of Browns Summit, NC, Morgen (Ronnie) Davis of Charlotte, NC, Erica (Josh) Tipton of Polk City, FL, Jason Faulkner of Winter Haven, FL and Allen (Amanda) Loyed of Glenville, GA; great grandchildren Kaylah Patterson of Thomasville, NC, Ryley Patterson of Browns Summit, NC, Rhett Loyed of Glenville, GA, Alaina Loyed of Glensville, Ga, Jackson Faulker of Winter Haven, FL, Clay Faulkner of Winter Haven, FL, Jacob Tipton of Polk City, FL, Zoe Faulkner of Winter Haven, FL; and great great grandchildren Kaycee Huerta of Thomasville, NC, Izzy Huerta of Thomasville, NC and Ivy Perez of Winter Haven, FL. Effie was an only child and loved to talk about her large family and how proud she was of having created that family with the love of her life, Harold.

There will be a 10:30 AM Visitation and 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Saturday November 23, 2024 at Macrini-Wilder Funeral home in Homosassa, FL. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
