Dennis L. Nelson, 60, of Crystal River, died on Tuesday July 9, 2013 under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. He was born in St. Louis, MO. on July 30, 1952. After retiring from Smith Kline Laboratory, he moved to Crystal River, FL in 1985. Dennis was a member of Gulf to Lake Methodist Church, a Life Member of the VFW and member and past Commander & Life member of American Legion Post #152 (Tampa). He also enjoyed boating and fishing.
Dennis is preceded by his daughter Kim Lee and granddaughter Kimberly. He is survived by his wife, of 27 years, Giesel Nelson; daughters Ashley Smith of Crystal River, FL and Laura Mays of New Port Richey, FL; mother Peggy (Whited) Nelson; sisters Marian Flippo of Missouri and Margaret White of Columbia, IL; and 3 grandchildren, Audria, Emily and Mason Major.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 6pm until 8pm on Monday July 15, 2013. Condolences may be offered at www.wilderfuneral.com
