Mary “Rosellen” Duke Utley passed away on September 1, 2023. Rosellen was born April 15, 1939 to the late William C. and Jewel H. Duke. Her love of cooking lead her into the career of Chef working at The Wynfrey Hotel and Vincent Market before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her sister: Marcia Champion, brother William C. Duke, Jr., daughter Ellen Forbes Blankenship and granddaughter Leah Donahoo. Rosellen is survived by her sister Judith McLaughlin and her children: Deborah (Stevan) Hopwood, Martha (Lee) Mayes, Andrea Shehadeh, Andrew (Bridgett) Forbes, Laurie (Tim) Carver and William (Melanie) Forbes. Also left to treasure her memory are 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am at Ridout’s Valley Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 am at Elmwood Cemetery.
