Margaret Crawford

passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her

parents, Clarence S. Conway Sr., and Ruth R. Conway; her brother, Clarence S. Conway, Jr.; her

husband, Robert C. Crawford, Sr.; and her daughter, Margaret Michele Crawford.

She is survived by two children: Robert C. Crawford, Jr., (Karen S. Crawford); and Kathleen C.

Jensen; her sister-in-law Marie Crawford; six grandchildren: Katie (Daniel Veren); Robert

(Laura) Crawford; Megan Crawford; Maggie (Kyle) Smith, Christopher Jensen and Conway

Jensen; and five great-grandchildren: Paige and Claire Veren; Mark and Mia Crawford; Ripley

Smith.

Peggy attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from John Carroll High School in 1950.

She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Crawford, May 23, 1953. She worked in student

health services at the University of Alabama, Birmingham for 25 years. She was a lifelong

member of Our Lady of Sorrows where she was a valued member of the choir for 40 years.

While with the choir, she was able to visit Rome, and Vatican City, and received a papal

audience from Pope John Paul II.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Friday, May 31 – Visitation 10 a.m., Mass 11 a.m.

Following mass, a family luncheon will be held in the parish hall 12-1 p.m. with graveside

services at 1:30 p.m.
