Josephine Cantrell Moore passed away on January 5, 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born on January 21, 1919 in Princeton, KY and was the daughter of Ora Bell Crowe Cantrell and Joseph Wade Cantrell. Mrs. Moore was an elementary school teacher for many years in both the military and civilian systems. She and her husband lived in Athens, GA, for 30 years after his retirement from the military. She traveled with her family and friends all over Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Far East, but home and family were always most important to her.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, COL Carl Grady Moore, and her sisters, Frances Cantrell Shore and Clara Cantrell Pelfry. She is survived by her son, C. Grady Moore, Jr. and wife, Jane, of Birmingham, AL, and her daughter Melissa Robinson and husband, Jack, of Schnecksville, PA; four grandchildren, Grady Moore, III and wife, Kimberly, and David Moore and wife, Cathleen, of Birmingham, Leni Miller and husband Jeff, of Blue Bell, PA and John Robinson and wife, Carly of Linthicum, MD; and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Josephine Moore may be made to a charity of your choice.
