Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Annette (Johnson) Schultz. He has three children: his son Scott and wife Diane; his son Todd and wife LaDonna; and his daughter Kris Ann. He has one sister, Marion Froemming. Jerry and Annette have 7 grandchildren: Jill Hartl and her husband Jason; Jenna Papes and her husband Rob; Jennifer Vollmer and her husband Chris; Carrie and her husband Keith Henning; Duane Langston; Raechel Schultz; and Ian Schultz. They have 6 great-grandchildren: Keller and Brannon Hartl; Keller, Cadence, and Claire Henning; and Mila Papes.
Jerry was born May 14, 1932, in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, to Irwin and Myrle (Smith) Schultz. He lived there until he joined the Air Force on June 5, 1951, during the Korean War. Following his marriage to Annette on December 30 that same year, they moved to Cape Cod, Massachusettes, where he reached the rank of Staff Sergant and was honorably discharged on June 4, 1955. Jerry was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal while serving in the Air Force.
Jerry and Annette later moved to Florida where they raised their three children. There, Jerry worked in the burgeoning Space Program for several years before becoming involved in the cable TV industry. As an entrepreneur / inventor, he was responsible for the development of standby power supplies for cable TV. As an inventor he also holds a U.S. Patent. Throughout his career, he started multiple successful companies which eventually led him to Georgia then to Alabama.
Jerry and Annette lived the last twenty-five years on beautiful Lake Martin in Dadeville, Alabama. Annette still lives in their lakefront home that was designed and built by Jerry in 1999.
