George McHutchison Williamson Jr.

George M. Williamson, age 83 of Homewood, was promoted to glory on December 31, 2011. Mr. Williamson served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Golden Flake Snack Foods. He was a loving husband, dad and granddad and will be surely missed by all.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Gertrude P. Williamson; his children: Richard L. Williamson, George P. Williamson, Craig A. (Cyndi) Williamson, Portia W. (Daniel) Wade, Allison W. (Dale) Wheelis; his grandchildren: Aaron Williamson, Janie Williamson, Mary Elaine Williamson, Kateland Williamson, Gene Wade, Samuel Wade, Lauren Wheelis; uncle and aunt Richard and Martha Muckkeroy and many cousins and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 6, 2012 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Alabama National Cemetery.
