Emily Jones

Emily Margaret Jones, age 105 of Birmingham passed away on June 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents John Wesley Jones and Mineola Segars Jones and three sisters, Aleta J. Brassell, Evelyn J. Porter, and Ivelyn J. Wood.

She is survived by two nephews John C. Porter and wife Faye of Rome, GA, Nixon Wood and wife Maureen of Birmingham. One great nephew Chris Porter and his wife Keli of Gainesville, GA and 2 great great nephews Jacob Taylor Porter and Drake Wesley Porter of Gainesville GA.

Emily graduated from Phillips High School and Wheeler Business College. She retired from J. H. Berry Reality and Insurance (J. H. Berry &Gilbert) after 39 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron and Grand Marshall and she was also a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church.

There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Jones at Elmwood Cemetery on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made to Fair Haven Foundation of Love or Vestavia Hills Baptist Church.
