Elaine Haney, 63, passed away on June 17th at St. Martin’s in the Pines Optum Hospice Care after a long battle with cancer. Elaine was born and raised in Newark, New York and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She relocated to Alabama immediately after college and lived there the remainder of her life due to the strong friendships she cultivated there. She worked as a designer/decorator for most of her career at different locations throughout Alabama but spent the last seven years employed at Issis & Sons Furniture Gallery in Pelham where she became close with many co-workers and clients.
Elaine was predeceased by her father George Haney and her mother Elsie (Boss) Haney. She is survived by her brother Paul Haney and wife Sandra Smith Haney of Toms River, New Jersey and her sister Connie Richmond and husband Jim Richmond of Bridgeville, Delaware. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Ryan & Sierra Haney and Courtney & Jared Richmond.
Visiting hours are being held on Sunday, June 19th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL.
