Steven Carl McDowell

Steven was born on September 5, 1948 in Spokane, WA the son of Carl and Donna McDowell who preceded him in death.

Steven served in the US Marines for 23 years, before retiring in 1989 as U.S. Master Sergeant. In 1992, he began his lifelong relationship with Debbie McNeal in Sterling, VA and moved the family to Missouri. After moving to Missouri, he then worked for Callaway Nuclear as a security officer and covered the fleets and facilities at the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Steven spent his free time in the garage working on electronics, target shooting, reloading and tailoring ammo. Many afternoons he spent fishing by the pond and out traveling when not at home. He loved his family, friends and all our puppies. He cherished life and pulled from every second to truly enjoy it. He served his country and his family with such pride and love.

He left such huge footprints on our hearts, that we shall walk again from the best of our memories.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Honor guard with full military rights will follow at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
