Rose Mary Hanger

Rose was born on October 5, 1945 in St James, MO the daughter of Johnny and Maudelene (Wilson) Watson who preceded her in death. She attended High School in Hermann, MO and then obtained her GED in 1985 in Jefferson City, MO. On December 28, 1963 in Montgomery City, MO she was united in marriage to Herman Floyd Hanger who preceded her in death on September 13, 2014. Rose was a loving and devoted mother, worked at the Shoe Factory in Hermann, MO for 5 years, worked at a Someplace Special Daycare for 4 years, and then retired from Scholastics as a mail order clerk in Jefferson City in 2009. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Holts Summit since 1984, where she was baptized that same year.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Hanger (Nancy) of Hermann, MO, Billy Hanger (Stephanie) of Fulton, MO and Brad Hanger (Stephanie Reed) of Holts Summit, MO; one daughter, Lisa Stevens of Holts Summit, MO; one brother, Ray Watson of Hermann, MO; one sister, Edna Littrell of Hermann, MO; 10 grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsey), Cory (Emma), Katarina (Patrick), Amanda, Joey (Allie), Kayla (Stephen), Bryan (Raven), Sandy, Dustin (Rachel) and Miranda; 13 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Avery, Aaron, Gage, Bailey, Meera, Cohen, Lincoln, Elsie, Octavia, Hendrix, Walker, Ila and Rylan; sisters-in law, Kay Marrow (Bob) of Montgomery City, MO, Peggy McNeill of Independence, MO, Diana Watson of Jefferson City, MO, Molly Watson of Jefferson City, MO and Cheryl Hanger of Holts Summit, MO; brother-in-law, Ronnie Hanger of Fulton, MO and several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Watson and Roy Watson; one sister, Gertie Holland; brothers-in-law, Jerry Holland, Thurl McNeill, Tom Hanger, George Hanger and George Littrell; three nieces, Michelle Watson, Sherry Dade and Debbie Strattman and five nephews, Jerry Hanger, Buddy Hanger, Craig Holland, Gary McNeill and Jimmy Hanger.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Holts Summit, MO. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Nolan Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Bull Cemetery, Holts Summit, MO.
