James "J.C." Carson Kemp

J.C. was born January 28, 1948 in Fulton, MO to Francis E. and Ruby (Frey) Kemp who both preceded him in death. On November 29, 1974 he was united in marriage to Mary Kay Kelsay in New Bloomfield, MO. J.C. was the loving husband to the love of his life, Mary Kay, and a devoted daddy to Emily and Lorie. He loved to work out, go dancing with Mary Kay and the kids, watch the kids play ball, draw, tell stories and teach his great grand babies all he could in the short time he had with them.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Kemp of the home; two daughters, Emily Tingle (Ken) of Wichita, KS and Lorie Alexander (Dail) of New Bloomfield, MO; granddaughters, Mikayla Jaeger (Scott), Breanna Alexander; grandsons, James Michael Steele, Gavin Steele (Devin Humphrey), and William Steele (Victoria Stofer); his pride and joy, great-grandchildren, Colt Steele, Carson Steele and Mila Kay Jaeger; sisters, Wilma Wall (Danny), Teresa Jett (Wayne), Renee Harrison (Jim Clark), Tammy Ernst (Joe) and Stephanie Mahnken (PJ); brother, Joe Kemp; sister in laws, Linda Kemp and Billy Kemp as well as several nieces and nephews.

J.C. was also preceded in death by brothers, Wallace, Harry “D.D.”, David, Wayne, Leslie and Francis Kemp, and sisters, Kay Love and Velma Durham.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit, MO. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Luebbering.
