Bill had many interests throughout his life, including watching football, NASCAR, and participating in truck events. He loved his family deeply and was a devoted and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his big heart and selfless nature. In addition to his many interests, Bill had a strong faith. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and was a longtime member of Cornerstone Tabernacle.
He worked for Atcon for 32 years until its closure in 2018. Following his career at Atcon, Bill took his love of cooking to a new level and started a food truck called “Uncle Bill’s Taco Wagon.” Bill and Sara traveled all over the United States with the food truck and enjoyed meeting people along the way while serving them delicious food, including Bill's famous quesadillas.
Bill loved to travel, and he took vacations each year with his beloved wife Sara. His favorite vacation spot was Hawaii, and his last trip was to South Carolina in November, where the family went to Bill’s favorite truck event, “Twitty’s Mud Bog,” and all food truck proceeds went to Toys for Tots, something that Bill loved. Knowing that this was his last trip, people traveled from all over to see Bill.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce VanKampen and Lynda Numikoski; step-father Dennis Numikoski; sister-in-law Debbie Rastetter; father-and-mother-in-law Ramon “Tamale King” and Anita “Tamale Queen” Quintero; as well as several cousins.
