Tom was a beloved father to his three children, Theresa (Luis) Rodriguez, Bradley Kennedy, and Katy (Nathan) Holland. He was especially proud of his three granddaughters, Heidi Holland, Lola Rodriguez, and Harlow Holland; often showing pictures and videos of them to all his friends and family. He loved all of his family near and far and rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
Tom was a proud US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Patterson FF-1061 from 1972-1976. He retired from Porter Warner Industries in 2018 after 36 years but was often still found stopping by to help out with complicated jobs or just to chat.
He will always be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and love of music, especially the guitar. He was always willing to help a friend in need and he was found many a Tuesday night pickin’ with his guitar buddies.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, he leaves behind his sister, Beth (Eddie) Buckel; brother, Kenneth (Nikki) Cowles; many nieces, nephews, and girlfriend Maria Dewees.
A private family service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Like a ship that’s left its moorings
And sails bravely out to sea,
So someone dear has sailed away,
In calm serenity;
But there’s promise of a greater joy
Than earth could have in store;
For God has planned a richer life,
Beyond the Unseen Shore.
Fair Winds and Following Seas.
