Sarah Tatum Jagoditsch

She was proceeded in death by her parents, father William Clinton Tatum and mother Mildred Hall Tatum; her sister Mary Ruth "Mert" Sisemore; her husband John Charles Jagoditsch; and her eldest son, John "Jack" Jagoditsch.

She is survived by her brothers William Earl Tatum and William Charles Tatum; her youngest son Jeffery Jagoditsch and his wife Jean Nance Jagoditsch; and her daughter-in-law Fran Chronister Jagoditsch.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Jagoditsch Montgomery, Bethany Wilks, Jonathan Jagoditsch, Jared Jagoditsch, and Jinny Marie Jagoditsch; and her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Hayden and Elise Wilks, and Laurelin Jagoditsch. In addition to these, the leaves many beloved cousins and friends.

Sarah spent her early years in the High Point & New Home communities of DeKalb County Alabama, before coming to Chattanooga. In 1946, at age 16, she was a contestant in the Miss Chattanooga Pageant. Later on, she was a volunteer at the VA hospital in Memphis. Most of her days were sent as a wonderful mother raising her children, & being a helpful neighbor wherever she lived. She was always concerned for the welfare of animals & that people were warm and fed.

Funeral services will be conducted from the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nate Wilks officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM on Friday December 15, and on Saturday December 16, from 12:00 PM until service time at North Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the local wildlife rehabilitation and educational program, Opie Acres. Opie Acres is located at 3935 Churchill Road Chattanooga TN, and more information about donating can be found by calling (423) 255-6460.
