Ruby “Evelyn” Prince passed away on June 4, 2020 at the age of 84, from fast growing metastatic breast cancer. Evelyn was in Hospice care at the Murfreesboro home of her daughter Sherry Prince Rich where she was cared for and loved by all of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son James H Prince Jr; Sons in law - Phillip Sonny Stephens and Robert Brad Stoker; sisters Dorthea Carroll, Ethel McKnight and Jewell Patterson. Survivors include daughters; Frieda McClendon (Glenn) Street, Brenda McClendon Stephens (Priscilla, Lee, Gretchen and Neveah Krause), Pat McClendon (Patrick Prince: Felecia, Dustin, Ayden and Emmalyn Rose) Janet McClendon Stoker (Meredith, Joe and Jason Green Godfrey; Erin and CJ McKinnis), Sherry Prince Rich (Jon and Abi); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Chapel service will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home North in Hixson, TN on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 5pm Eastern. There will be no Visitation.
Ms. Prince was a 50 year member of the Hixson Order of Eastern Star where she served multiple times as Worthy Matron and a former employee of Walmart where she took pride in raising money for Children’s Miracle Network; she made many lifelong friends.
During her short illness, she was visited by many neighbors and family who travelled from the Chattanooga area to show their love for her.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions to Children’s Miracle Network.
