He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Doris Starnes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Becky Carpenter Starnes; daughter, Dr. Sarah Starnes of Jacksonville, FL; son, Jared (Gretchen) Starnes of Farmington, MO; grandchildren, Anna Beth Starnes and Mary Martha Starnes, and Ella Ro Starnes; sister Carol (Bobby) Higdon of Hixson, TN; friend, Eva Barringhaus; and several cousins.
Randy was born in Chattanooga, TN and was a graduate of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Brainerd High School. He worked for State Farm Insurance Companies for over 35 years, while living in several cities, residing in Bloomington, IL for 29 years.
He loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, with all his heart. He shared this love through his nursing home ministry. He was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice and Dr. Michael Stipanov and staff for their care and kindness.
The family will receive friend from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, November 24, and 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration on Randy’s life will follow at 1 pm on Monday, at the North Chapel with his Pastor Steven Granger officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
