She was born on August 5, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Leora Land and Bud Land. She is also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth R. Smith, her son, Charles Dewayne Smith; and one brother, Tommy Petty.
Phyllis is survived by her sons Ray LeBron (Yolanda) Sims, Christopher Lee (Julia) Humphries; her grandchildren, Christopher Mithcell Sims (Carly), Matthew LeBron Sims, Christopher Charles Humphries, and Kristen Danielle Terrell; her great-grandchildren, Madeline, Riley, Eisley, and Ella along with many cousins.
Phyllis will be remembered in the community for her work with her husband on Crazy Ken’s Snow Cones and vegetable truck.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5pm on Sunday, November 12, and from 12 (noon) to 1pm on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Phyllis, will follow at 1pm on Monday at the North Chapel with Pastor Richard Kennett officiating. She will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
