Lewis Warren Marks Sr., 95, of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and long-time resident of the Murray Hills community. Lewis served his country faithfully in the United State Army during World War II and the Korean War and afterward in the Army Reserves. He left military service with the rank of Major. Lewis retired after 41 years from TVA . He was a devoted father and adoringly known as “Granddaddy” and “Pappaw” to his many grandchildren. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed cheering for the Crimson Tide whenever they played. He lived a long, fulfilling life and was loved by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Helen; two sons, Lewis, Jr. and Randy; six brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Marks is survived by: son, Barry (Becky); daughters-in-law, Janet and Peggy; grandchildren, Michele (Pete), Lewis “Trey” III, Bradley (Malori), Michael (Beth), and Jeffrey (Caroline); great-grandchildren, Bryce, Reece, Vivien, and Henry; sister, Irene.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. David Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends preceding the service on Saturday from 1-3 PM at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.
