Leona Pelfrey “Essie” Bennett, 83 of Chattanooga TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Leona and husband Fred Roy were owners of Bennett’s Vine Street Sundries.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband Fred Roy Bennett; sons Joe Harold Bennett and James Edward Bennett; granddaughter Tammy Bennett Terrell; parents Jack and Lenies Pelfrey; sister Shirley McClain; brothers Hubert and Glenn Pelfrey
Leona is survived by her son David (Patty) Carl Bennett Sr.; Brothers Charles Pelfrey, Lonnie Pelfrey and David Pelfrey; sisters Christine Gunter, Hazel Cobb and Maxine Spitzer; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great- grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law Alma and Maggie
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 6-8 pm and on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 9:30- 10:30 am at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel
Funeral service for Leona will be conducted at 10:30 am on Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Darrell Coffman officiating
Interment will follow to Chattanooga National Cemetery
