Joseph (Joe) Wayne Hendricks, 84 of Rossville, GA passed away Friday morning September 11, 2020. Born, in Hamilton County Chattanooga, TN on June 4, 1936 to Lena Rivers Moore Hendricks and James Gaither Hendricks (both deceased). Joseph joined the Army in 1961 with his love of helping people. He served in the Germany. Joseph was a member of local Millwrights. Joseph loved the outdoors golfing, fishing and playing cards in the casino with family and friends. His most favorite pastime was being with his family. He is survived by his 3 daughters Debbie Huckaby, Sara Stacey Giles and Sonya Tracey Smith. 5 grandchildren, Brandi Bores, Ashlee Meredith, Joseph Giles, Jacob Keeton and Joshua Keeton. Two Great-grandchildren, McKinlee Meredith and Silas Keeton and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sally Hendricks, parents Lena and Jim Hendricks 2 sisters Barbara Jean Dodds and Virginia Doris Rapier, 4 brothers James Franklin "Sonny", George Garland "Buddy", Robert Eugene "Genie" and Billy Edwin "Bill" or "Sweet William.” and Charles (Doc) Hendricks
Memorial service will be held Monday September 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Hwy 153, Hixson, TN. Family will receive friends Saturday 4-8 & Sunday 4-8.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue in Bradenton, FL.
