Mr. John Hudson Shaver III, 63, of Hixson, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. John was born in Rhea County, TN on January 6, 1960. He retired from Propex Industries with over 40 years of service. John was a lover of ALL things Tennessee VOLS.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Francis Morgan; paternal grandparents, John and Ally Shaver; and father-in-law, Robert Long.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Veronica Shaver; daughter, Heather Bruggink (Doug); daughter, Jessica Finger (Gregg); Parents, John and Claudette Shaver; grandchildren, Brantley Bruggink, Braxton Finger, Landry Bruggink, Maddox Finger, and Henley Bruggink; siblings, Janet Lambert (Dean), Jennifer Henson (Ben), Jeffrey Shaver (Shannon); mother-in-law, Ellen Long; 8 nieces and nephews; 3 great nephews; and countless lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5th from 12-5 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 5 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Mike Dobbs officiating. Private interment will be in the Second Shaver Cemetery in Dayton, TN. Pallbearers will include Eddie Ramsey, Jimmy Wyatt, Barry Simpson, Tony Gillispie, Steve Garren, Paul Duncan, Pat Womack, and Bob Misita.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The ALS Association-Tennessee Chapter or to Tennessee Donor Services in John’s honor.
