Floyd G. Britton, Sr., 88, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Before retiring, Floyd was employed at Davenport Hosiery Mill where he and his wife, Marjorie met in 1947. He then retired from Top Flight Paper Products. He was preceded in death in December 2016 by his dear wife of 68 years, Marjorie Burkhart Britton. He is survived by children, Peggy (John) Britton Morrison of Birmingham, Alabama and Glenn (Nancy) Britton, Jr. of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Jason Morrison, Britt (Jon) Delk, Dennis (Julie) Britton; great-grandchildren, Colby and Emma Britton, Holden, Eloise and Henry Delk; sister, Juanita (Darrin) Herring; brother, Herman Lee (Peggy Jo) Britton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 12 pm to 2:30 pm at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 2:30 pm with Jerome Frandle and Tanner Shomin officiating. A committal service to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Dr. Martha Ziegler and Dr. John Gwin for their exceptional care of Floyd throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (1-800-822-6344).
