Don served our country during the Korean War in the Army. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Don was a member of the Red Bank Lions Club. He was well known for his sense of humor and telling jokes.
He was preceded in death by a son, David “Randy” Tipps and two brothers, John and Raymond Tipps.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Tipps; daughter, Linda Chauncey and husband Bill; grandchildren, Brian Chauncey, Brett, Brandon and Myles Tipps; great granddaughter, Olivia Tipps; brother, Mack Tipps and wife Bertha; sister, Jane Griffin; sisters-in-law, Shirley Pell and Rita Tipps; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday and 12 (noon) to 1 PM on Monday at the North Chapel.
Services for Don will be held at 1 PM on Monday at the North Chapel with Rev. Harold Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Red Bank Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don’s name to the Brainerd Baptist Church Mission Fund, for Brian Chauncey.
