Delores was born in Chattanooga to the late Edgar and Laurine Proffitt Jett and after her mother’s passing she was raised by Edgar and Erin Hanlin Jett. She was a 1959 graduate of Red Bank High School and earned her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Delores taught English at Red Bank Junior High for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ. Delores admired and loved her dogs and animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Paalzow Farr of Red Bank and beloved mother-in-law, Betty Paalzow Farr; brother, Ed Jett.
Delores is survived by her cousins, Harriette Hogue, Genevieve O’Neal, Harriett McQueen and Martha McDermott.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
