She was born on December 9, 1947, in Soddy, TN, to the late Lonnie and Myrtle Davis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Davis, and niece, Jessica Gibson.
Brenda was survived by her daughters, Melissa (Bob) Stewart and Angie (Dewayne) Neighbors; sister, Janice (Jim) Gibson; and grandchildren, McKenzie Hassler, Zachary Stewart, Graham Stewart, Ella Hassler, and Trey Hassler.
She was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church. She graduated from Soddy Daisy High School and received a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from UTC. Brenda was employed by Berean Academy for 38 years where she taught kindergarten and was daycare director.
Brenda was a loving, kind, giving ray of sunshine to anyone who met her. Her care and compassion carried over in every area of her life. This made her an incredible teacher and mentor to hundreds of students.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Friday, September 3, 2021, at the North Chapel – Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
