Billy Forrest Roy

He graduated from Central High School in 1949 and was part of the ROTC program. He joined the Tennessee National Guard before graduation. He retired from the Guard with the rank of Major. He started working at DuPont, at the age of 17. He worked there, as a Supervisor, for 36 years, until his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of the Rossville church of Christ, at the time of his death. He attended the Eastdale church of Christ for many years, serving as Sunday School teacher and Elder. He and his wife, Patsy, were active for many years with the Fall Creek Falls Summer Bible Camp with him serving as Director for several years. They were both excellent Bible teachers and were responsible for leading many young people to Christ.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Massey Roy, his parents, his sister, Bettye Roy Elkins, and brother Doyle B. Roy, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Poole Roy; daughters Nancy (Philip) Nunnally, Becky (Dennis) Terrill and son David (Willanna) Roy; step-daughters, Karen Knowles (Dennie) Lowery, Kathy Knowles (Tim) Mullican and sister Carolyn Roy Lusk. Beloved grandchildren Rachel (Matthew) Manning, Brian (Elizabeth) Terrill, Brandon Nunnally, Eric (Karen) Terrill, Adam (Jade) Nunnally, Keith (Shara) Terrill and step-grandson Joe Mullican. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Chattanooga Funeral Home (North Chapel) is in charge of the services. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
