Betty Prowell Mayberry

She was a long-time resident of Hixson, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey Prowell and Mattie Belle Peek Prowell; her husband of 45 years, Thomas Carlyle Mayberry; four brothers: Charles Ray Prowell, William Bernice Prowell, Thomas Harvey Prowell and Waters West Prowell; two sisters: Ida Sue Prowell Kinney and Thelma Belle Prowell Arnold.

She is survived by her two children: Pamela Jean Mayberry (Columbia, SC), Thomas Allan (Mary) Mayberry (Columbia, SC) and two grandchildren: Katherine Marie Mayberry and Thomas Carlyle Mayberry II.

She loved homemaking and cooking. She enjoyed preparing meals for others. She and her husband, Tom, were long-time members of First-Centenary United Methodist Church and the Yomaco Sunday School class.

Special thanks to the staffs of The Blake at Woodcreek Farms, Senior Therapy Solutions and All Seasons Healthcare who cared for Mom so well.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 3 pm at the Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel in Hixson, Tennessee with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens adjacent to the funeral home. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
