Linda Rae Womack

Linda Rae Womack, age 93, of Howell, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her six loving children; her eleven grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren, including Grayson, Evelynn, and Madisyn; and her long-term caretaker, Martha Wehrman, who provided comfort and care to Linda and her husband.

Linda was born April 9, 1930, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Walter and Christine (Watson) Lenzie. For many years of her adult life, Linda worked as a switchboard operator; however, her most important job was raising her six children, who she loved dearly. When Linda was introduced to Carl Edward Womack, it was love at first sight! Linda and Carl began dating, and were re-married on April 9, 1995, sharing nearly twenty-four wonderful years together until Carl’s passing on February 12, 2019. In her free time, Linda could always be found enjoying celebrity gossip magazines, or playing matchmaker with her friends. Linda closely followed astrology, and loved to analyze the zodiac sign of anyone she met. She was a wonderful and generous woman, who would do anything for anyone. Linda felt very fondly of her many grandchildren; this fondness was witnessed until her very last words; a call out for her grandson, Jimmy. She will be dearly missed by many.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Christine; her loving husband, Carl Womack; and her sister, Dorothy Roman.

A Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Linda’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm. A Committal Service and Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442.
